How I usually create my music:
To record and do post production I presently use:
and a PCR-M50 USB based Midi Keyboard controller
My main synth of late is Absynth. It is software based.
I also play a Gibson Les Paul SG and a Yamaha SHB-400 electric guitar. The Gibson is rather heavily modified and I have owned it since the early seventies. It still has the original pickups installed and the stock vibrato tailpiece has been replaced with a Schaller stop tailpiece (with violin tuners) that does not constantly put it out of tune.
Often I use an EBow, a M-Audio Black Box for effects and reverb/echo for the guitar and a Zoom PFX-9003 palmtop effects processor.
In addition there are LOTS of effects and processing software included in Sonar, Acid, and Audacity as well as software based synthesizers and drum machines.
On occasion I also have used KeyKit for
MIDI based
manipulation.
